Social support affects PTSD symptoms. Higher levels of marital satisfaction paired with communication on deployment is associated with lowered PTSD symptoms, whereas lower marital satisfaction paired with communication on deployment is associated with higher levels of PTSD symptoms.
Social resilience is the capacity to foster, engage in and sustain positive relationships and to endure and recover from life stressors and social isolation. Increases in our connections with others and social interaction with others will increase the resilience of soldiers. Having better communication skills will result in better relationships, which in turn, will result in a high resilience through social resilience. |
